Hello-Very exciting news that we will be playing next month and it's going to be a bang out performance and video release party for our new video for our song GLAM. Kevin Rhoades, Rhoadeskill Entertainment, directed the video and it was shot mostly on green screen at the Living Theater. We wanted to say thanks to Kevin, his awesome crew, and the Living for making it happen. The party will be at FAT BABY on Nov. 3rd at 10pm. There will be a small cover. See you soon!

So my friend and filmmaker Kevin Rhoades approached me about making a music video and I said, sounds awesome, let's do it. Then he started talking the technical-green screens, graphics, and sending me links to post-production stuff that, frankly, is a bit over my head. Well, the Saturated Youth party was a great success, thanks again Natti Vogel and Tam Lin for playing the event and everyone who showed up. We're really happy to have the album done and available online. This past week, I had an interview for Trash Can magazine and played a gig at a yoga studio, which was really great, because we got to connect w/ the audience members a bit more than usual. On May 26th-8pm- I'll be playing at Public Assembly--it's going to be just guitar(s), to change things up a bit. Hope to see you there!

Nick James is no longer performing with us (thanks for the crazy times Nick!) and we are looking forward to a new phase oF the band. "Soundscape" (my terminology) composer Neely Bruce is creating the event--the piece is called "Orbits" with alot of trombones--I mean alot of trombones. We will be performing around 8pm that day.

I went to a benefit concert for current Iraqi War Veterans Against the War last night brought to you by the Wink Winks. These folks have opened up an important dialog about the war and the need to end it. Please visit their site and donate--I think their stories should be in the mass media--after all they were on the front lines and their reports of what is happening/has happened there (though not surprising to me) need to be heard and no matter who gets in on Tuesday, their stories need to be heard!!

So tonight of course is Halloween--big day in NYC. Hungry March Band is marching in the parade and we will be at the new GALAPAGOS Art Space in DUMBO (16 Main St. --near St. Ann's Warehouse). Its only a $5 cover and we are on stage at MIDNIGHT so bring your costumed self and meet us down in DUMBO for fun loving love music. It's already a beautiful day!!

I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....

If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different."

Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story.

If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.

If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people,
then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.

If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.

If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian.

If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.

If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's.

If you're husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now. It All makes sense now...

Vigin Galtatic It's true. I went to the techonology expo two years ago and climbed into the prototype for this. --the idea a just going up to space for a quick jaunt is fantastically
incrdible but also is something like sky diving-not neccessary do so but afterwards life changing . Here are the pics I still would do it but maybe I should sky dive first, its a bit more affordable.

So in the burgeoning brass street band world there is one song that keeps people's spirits up and perhaps even captures the flavor of street band "movement". This song is the Italian folk song called "bella ciao". The Italians love this song next to White Stripes > There is even a movie . So big deal for me--playing at the Living Room with Jay Mankind this Saturday at 10pm. You can't go wrong with the Living Room on Saturday night in the L.E.S. I am also guest playing w/ the FREE Radicals on July 20th at the Parkside Lounge also @ 10pm. My friend Nick on drums will cross-genre your heart out.
Next Wednesday--Going to see Boban Markovic play an outside concert at the Lincoln Center--if you live gypsy music--this band is the BOMB. !! They will be at the Drom (in the East Village) later in the month-newer venue-great acoustics. Fun! Hot! Dancing! Fast!

Finally-Juliet Echo will be playing a show in August--it’s going to be HOT HOT HOT.
What else--oh yes: I had a dream last night with the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse-weird because I am not too familiar of the Bible--but they were in my dream-odd realization when I awoke! So in my dream the 4 horsemen who weren't really on horses (but were floating) wore power business suits w/ slicked back hair in the style of Christian Bale in American Psycho or perhaps Charlie Sheen in Wall Street and they were plotting (go figure) horrible events upon the world. They had these echo-like booming voices but for some reason I was frightened of them--even when they were planning my personal destruction. AHH!! What a dream...I better go dance it out!!

So since the hungry march band toured the Pacific NW a few weeks ago...I had one day of downtime in Seattle--Adam (HMB drummer) suggested the library,which was designed by dutch architect Rem Koolhass...so here are some pics...so visual, felt like an art museum!

On the left, is an art installation next to the escalator. The pic on the right--the Betty Jane Reading room--explained the use of eco-friendly floor wood (bamboo)....right below is how they categorize the stakes, and various views...
